Blizzard in a Balloon

You get a much stronger first jump plus a second one in the air, and the blizzard version shoves you sideways as well as upward. That sideways push is the part worth practicing. Tap it as you turn around and you carry your speed through the reversal instead of stopping dead, which matters more in a boss fight than the raw height does.

• Letting go of the jump button cuts the second jump short, which is how you land on a narrow ledge instead of sailing past it.
• Firing the double jump just before you hit the ground wipes out fall damage.
• Everything shrinks underwater, so do not plan an escape route through a flooded cave around the height you are used to on land.

Different double jump sources each grant their own separate jump, so a Sandstorm in a Balloon or a Fart in a Jar adds height on top of this one. Two items that give the same blizzard jump do nothing extra, so there is no reason to carry both the bottle and this balloon.
