Chlorophyte Drill

Chlorophyte is the bottleneck for armor and for the best weapons of its tier, and this spends a heap of it on a tool you have a better answer for. If the mechanical bosses are down you can build a Drax instead, which digs at the same rate and chops trees as well. All the drill has on it is a little extra reach.

The drill is quicker out of the box but ignores every mining speed bonus you are wearing, so a loadout with mining gear on closes that gap and passes it. Take the drill if you like the continuous beam and never bother with mining accessories. Otherwise the pickaxe is the better tool, and further out neither is worth the ore.
