Cool Whip
6 summon tag damage Your summons will focus struck enemies Strike enemies to summon a friendly snowflake 'Let me have some of that cool whip'
How to craft it
what a hit does
Like every whip, the swing marks whatever it touches so your minions pile onto that target and hit harder while the mark holds. The extra here is a snowflake that spawns above you and chases enemies on its own, plus a short freeze on everything the lash crosses. The snowflake runs on a timer, and further hits refresh that timer instead of adding a second one, so the play is a steady rhythm of swings rather than a burst.
the snowflake has a ceiling
It ignores your damage bonuses. Armor, accessories, potions, none of it applies, and it does not pick up tag damage from your other whips either. Banners are the only thing that moves the number. It stays exactly as strong at the end of Hardmode as it was the day you crafted it, which is why this whip drops out of loadouts well before the minions it supports do. It does strip a lot of armor, so it holds up against heavy enemies better than the raw figure suggests.
notes
- Time a swing to land just as the current snowflake is about to expire and you can briefly have two out at once.
- Catching several targets in one lash costs damage per extra target, so a long sweep through a crowd is for tagging, not for damage.
