Golf Club (Iron)
A well-rounded club best for mid-range distances Golf balls will carry a good distance with decent vertical loft
what the iron is for
Four club shapes cover four jobs, and the iron is the middle one: enough lift to clear a small rise, enough carry for the medium range shots that make up most of a hole. The driver is for distance on a flat trajectory, the wedge throws the ball nearly straight up out of a pit, and the putter barely lifts it for the last few tiles. Carry all four. None of them harm enemies or critters, so a club is dead weight outside the minigame.
the fancier versions
Better looking clubs unlock as your scores improve, but none of them change how the ball flies. The upgrade is cosmetic, so there is no reason to save for one until you want the look.
using a club to scout
The camera follows the ball after a shot, which turns golf into a cheap surveying tool. Drop a tee, hit straight up with an iron or a wedge, and you get a free look at the sky, which finds floating islands faster than building a tower. Shots cost nothing once you own the ball, though the ball means a trip into the underground desert first.
