Palladium Chainsaw

Same tier, two tools, and the split mirrors the one between drills and pickaxes. The chainsaw cuts faster out of the box but reaches less far. Once you have stacked axe speed from gear and potions the waraxe overtakes it, and the extra reach lets you fell a tree without moving your feet. In plain gear the chainsaw is quicker.

Chopping tools are the last thing most players spend Hardmode ore on, and that instinct is usually right. Wood stops being a bottleneck long before this. The real argument for one is building, where a slow axe turns a large treehouse or a wood farm into pure busywork.
