Ocean fishing pulls these quickly and the Ocean is a short walk from most spawns, so a working stack is not much effort to put together.

Cook them into Sashimi rather than the other option. Both recipes eat the same fish, but Sashimi puts you a full tier further up the food buff line and runs a good deal longer, so taking the weaker one spends the same catch for less. Food buffs are among the cheapest stat boosts available before a fight, and that gap is large enough to care about across a whole boss run.
