Sluggy

Smashing jungle plants can pop out one of three bugs, and this is the one you see second most often. Its bait strength sits between the common one and the rare one, which makes it the bug you actually burn day to day: good enough to matter for Angler quests, common enough that you are not hoarding it for a special occasion.

Large jungle plants are by far the best thing to swing at, with tall plants a distant second. Vines are barely worth the click. There is also a cap on how many jungle bugs can be loitering near you at once, so net what you find before clearing more growth, otherwise new spawns simply stop appearing.

The Buggy Statue produces all three jungle bugs, but statue critters cannot be caught, so it is not a bait farm. Wire one up if you want movement in a base, not if you want fishing supplies.
