Snow Brick

Two reasons. They give a built, deliberate look for anything meant to read as a lodge or a fortress, and they still register as snow as far as the game is concerned.

That second point is the useful one. Lay down enough of them and the area counts as a Snow biome, which changes what spawns there and what you pull out of the water when fishing. You can put that anywhere you like, including next to your base, without hauling the terrain in from the real thing.

The flakes drifting behind them are only a visual, and you cannot switch them off. If you want the biome, you get the weather with it.
