collecting them is the annoying part
They do not land in a neat pile when the boss dies. Each one comes off whichever body segment happened to be nearest you at that moment, so by the end of the fight they are strung out along the entire path the worm dragged you over. Worse, they hang exactly where they appeared rather than falling to the ground, so one that popped out fifty blocks up stays fifty blocks up. Fly the route back afterward, or wear something that pulls items toward you, or you will finish the night short of what you actually earned and never realize it.
budget for more than one night
A single kill will not cover everything these go into. Between the drills, the emblems and the upgraded swords you are looking at two or three trips through the fight, so keep spare summoning items rather than treating the first win as the end of it. The Destroyer is usually the easiest of the three mechanical bosses to repeat once you have a decent arena, which makes this the soul you are least likely to run short on.
small quirks
- It is one of a handful of items that ignore gravity, which is why the drops sit in midair instead of dropping to your feet.
- It is the only soul whose tooltip names the boss it came from outright.
