what it actually boosts

The tooltip wording has been rewritten more than once over the years, which has left people unsure what it covers. It boosts everything a summoner uses: minions, sentries and whips all take the bonus. Whip-focused builds in particular should not skip it thinking it only feeds the pets.

It drops from the Wall of Flesh, so a summoner can be wearing it within minutes of hardmode opening, and it is the first real percentage boost the class gets access to. Keep it after better emblems appear rather than selling it, since it folds into the Avenger Emblem later.
