A plain Bomb bounces and rolls after it lands, so on any slope the crater ends up somewhere other than where you aimed. This one plants itself the instant it touches a block and stays there until it goes off. If the block underneath is mined out first, it simply drops to the next surface.
what it is best at
Shadow Orbs and Crimson Hearts are the obvious use. Both sit in slanted chasm walls where a rolling bomb wanders off before it detonates, and the usual fix is walling the area in first. Sticking one directly to the orb skips all of that. The trade is throw distance: you have to get closer than you would with the regular version, so clear the room before you start.
