Drops
Banner
Every 50th kill of this enemy drops Illuminant Bat Banner.where they are
Underground Hallow only, and only once the world has turned. Nothing summons them, they simply fill those caves from the moment the Hallow exists, which is exactly the point in a run where your gear is at its weakest. They take the slot the Giant Bat held and hit considerably harder for it, so an early Hallow mining trip goes badly for anyone treating them as the same enemy in a new color.
hitting one
Small, fast, and it never flies in a straight line, so precise single point weapons miss constantly. Anything that covers area connects instead: a whip, a wide swung sword like the Night's Edge, or a weapon that leaves something lingering behind it. The blur trailing off it is a visual effect and nothing more. It is not dodging, you are missing.
