Dry Rocket

This is rocket ammunition with a terraforming job attached. It blows up like any other rocket and, in the same moment, wipes liquid out of a small pocket around the impact. Anything caught in the blast still takes damage, including you, so it is not a safe tool to fire at your feet.

The important behavior is what happens in flight. Touching any liquid at all sets it off immediately, so a shot that has to cross a waterfall or skim a lava pool detonates early and cleans out the wrong pocket. Line up shots that reach solid ground without passing over anything wet.

The obvious use is clearing water and lava out of places you do not want to swim into. Aim at the block face beside a pool rather than into the pool itself: a rocket that lands in liquid spends most of its effect on space that is already occupied, and you get a fraction of the clearance for the same shot. Hitting dry stone next to the problem removes far more.

Firing while you are stood in liquid is the worst case. It goes off instantly at your position and hurts you for it.

The dry version is the base of the family. The Cyborg sells it at any point once he has moved in, and it converts into the Wet, Lava and Honey versions and back again, so you never have to commit to one type. Those three place their liquid instead of stripping it.

Mixing them is where things get interesting. Firing a placement rocket while you are standing in a different liquid flash freezes most of the result into obsidian, aetherium, honey block or crispy honey depending on the pairing, which is either a fast way to build a bridge or a fast way to entomb yourself.

These are the long range version of the liquid bombs sold by the Demolitionist and pulled out of obsidian and hellstone crates. The bombs cost less, the rockets let you work from somewhere safe.

Not every launcher honors the liquid effect. The Celebration, Celebration Mk2 and Electrosphere Launcher strip it out and fire plain explosions instead, so loading liquid rockets into them wastes the ammunition entirely.

The Snowman Cannon is the fastest launcher that keeps the effect intact. If you are reshaping a whole lake rather than punching one hole, that rate of fire is the difference between a minute of work and ten.
