One Sandstone Chest item lands every time, drawn from a pool of eight, and the quality swing across that pool is wide. Magic Conch is a free ride to the ocean whenever you want one, which quietly saves a lot of walking. A Bast Statue parked in an arena is passive defense you never have to think about again. Dunerider Boots are respectable early movement. The Snake Charmer flute is a toy, and Ancient Chisel only matters if you are still swinging a starter hammer.
The Sandstorm in a Bottle is the jackpot and it is rare enough that planning around it will only annoy you. If you specifically want one, raiding real Sandstone Chests underground is usually faster than fishing. Where crates win is bulk. Sturdy Fossils arrive in quantities that make Fossil armor practical without feeding an Extractinator all evening, and Scarab Bombs stack up into a genuine digging tool.
small print
- Copper and Tin Bars never come out of one, even though both ores sit in the pool.
- Roughly half also carry an Underground Desert painting, which is by far the cheapest route to that collection.
- Unlike the chest it copies, it will not hand you a Desert Minecart or an Encumbering Stone.
