Shiverthorn

Every other herb wants harvesting inside a window, at a certain time or in certain weather, and punishes you for turning up late. This one blooms whenever it feels like it and then stays that way permanently. Plant a row along a wall in your base and cut it whenever you happen to walk past. There is no schedule to keep.

A bloomed plant gives off a faint blue glow, which is how you spot wild ones from a distance in a dark ice cave. Take blooming plants with a regrowth tool rather than a sword: the extra seeds mean the patch pays for itself and then some.

Its main draw is the potion that improves what you pull out of fishing crates, which is worth keeping a permanent supply for if you fish at all. It also goes into a couple of one-off brews and a Christmas decoration.

Journey mode players can skip herb hunting altogether: research a single Garland, duplicate it, then break the copies down in Shimmer to unlock the herbs that went into it.
