Silenced shuts off anything that draws mana. Cursed shuts off everything, and that second one is the whole reason to build this. Taking a Cursed proc mid-fight means several seconds of standing there absorbing damage with no way to answer, which in a tight dungeon corridor is often the run. The accessory deletes that failure state.

As a worn item it is hard to justify a slot for, because neither debuff appears often enough to earn one. Its real job is being a rung on the ladder to the Ankh Charm and then the Ankh Shield. You build it because the recipe wants it, not because you plan to equip it.

Shimmer changed the timing. Both halves can be produced before Hardmode now, so a player who wants the immunity for an early dungeon run can have it well ahead of when the game intended. It is one of the better uses for a spare Nazar.
