Palm Wood

Ocean beaches are the obvious source and the Oasis pockets out in the Desert are the one people forget. Both regrow on their own, and you can farm it deliberately by dropping Acorns on plain surface sand, which is far less fiddly than replanting a forest.

A palm only gives you palm wood if it is rooted in ordinary sand. Grown on corrupted, crimson or hallowed sand, the same tree hands over Ebonwood, Shadewood or Pearlwood instead. Once Hardmode paints a stripe across your beach, half the farm quietly changes what it produces, and you will not notice until a recipe refuses to work.

It has the full furniture and gear set every wood type gets, and the tone is a pale sun bleached beige that suits beach and desert builds. Nothing crafted from it outperforms plain wood, so build it for the look.
