Pirate Deadeye

Deadeyes exist only inside a Pirate Invasion. There is no separate summon for them and they never appear outside the event. Think of one as a deckhand that swapped punching for a blunderbuss and picked up an eye patch on the way.

Very little, one at a time. It fires slowly, leads badly, and up close a good share of its shots plough into the dirt in front of you. Later patches cut the fire rate, the bullet speed and the reach on top of that. A single deadeye is close to harmless.

Volume. The event puts enough of them on the field that bad aim stops mattering, and they open up from off screen while something with a knife has your attention. Fighting from a raised platform pays twice over, since their shots bury themselves in the terrain below you and the melee half of the invasion has to climb to reach you.

The name works both ways. A deadeye is a marksman, and this one wears a patch over an eye that clearly is not sharp. The sprite keeps that patch facing the camera whichever direction it walks, so strictly speaking it has one over each eye and cannot see at all, which would explain the shooting.
