Rich Mahogany

The useful quirk is that mahogany reseeds itself. On surface jungle grass the trees come back on their own, so a strip of grass with clear sky above it is a permanent supply that needs no acorns and no replanting. Every other wood in the game means walking the row dropping seeds after each harvest.

Getting the grass there is the only work. Jungle grass spreads through mud, so a mud shelf near your base and a handful of jungle seeds is the whole setup, and the same plot gives you the jungle plants that potions want.

It is the only wood whose name does not contain the word wood. If you overshoot and end up with thousands of it, Shimmer turns the surplus back into ordinary wood.
