How to craft it
Used to craft
what it actually adds
Run into a wall in midair and you stop there rather than falling. Hold down and you slide, faster than either half of the accessory manages alone, and from either state you can push off and keep climbing. It is the passive version of a grappling hook: no button, no aiming, it simply happens when you make contact.
the wing trick
Touching a wall refills your flight time, and it resets a Cloud in a Bottle jump as well. On a vertical climb that means flying, tagging the wall, and flying again, which beats wings alone by a wide margin. In an arena with walls at both ends the same loop keeps you off the ground indefinitely.
is it worth a slot
Usually not, once you have a decent hook. Hooks cover everything except the controlled slide, and they sit in their own slot instead of competing with damage and defense. The argument for keeping it is that it never needs input, so a long climb is far less fiddly than the same climb on a hook. Blocks you have hammered into slopes will not hold you at all, which catches people out in their own builds.
