Ebonwood

Corruption trees give wood a step above the ordinary kind, so the sword, bow and armor built from it beat their plain versions for no extra work. If you spawned in a Corruption world, your first real upgrade is a walk sideways with an axe, not a mining trip. Among pre-hardmode woods only ash sits above it, and Crimson worlds get an equivalent instead.

It carries none of the biome it came from. You can floor an entire house in it inside a pure forest without seeding anything, which is not something you can say about most Corruption materials.

Acorns on corrupt grass give the normal trees, and acorns on exposed ebonsand give the palm variety. A short planted row near your base is faster than walking back to the Corruption every time you want another batch of furniture.
